My name is Debbie Bergstrom and I first met Dr. Preston in March of 1999. It was the same day I would start the first of six chemotherapy sessions to treat my lymphoma. I can't say I was overly excited to meet Dr. Preston as I was a little leery of hypnotherapy, but my husband had made the appointment and felt it was something I should at least try

In the beginning, I had an eight-centimeter, Large B cell aggressive tumor. During our first meeting, Dr. Preston and I worked on a visualization technique. During this exercise, I would picture my tumor and then picture my little dog tearing it apart. The visualization was also to help me deal with any nausea I felt from the chemo. Given my initial reluctance, I have to admit when I left Dr. Preston's office I was experiencing a great feeling of inner peace that was not there before.

Between my first and second chemo treatments, I went to my family physician for an x-ray of the tumor. We all were slightly shocked to see that the tumor had changed dramatically from the last x-ray. It had shrunk from eight centimeters to a little over two. When my oncologist viewed the x-rays, he was just as shocked as the rest of us. I told him of my sessions with Dr. Preston and his advice was to keep on doing whatever I had been doing.

I went through the rest of my chemo and radiation feeling much better than I had anticipated and met with Dr. Preston on a regular basis. This September it will be two years since my last chemo treatment and everything is looking wonderful. I, without a doubt, feel my hypnotherapy is the major reason my cancer at the point is gone.
